San Francisco, October 23, 2025 — Faisal, a software developer working on improving content tagging systems, is conducting an experiment to better control how linked entities appear within news articles. His latest test involves adding a link to a company’s webpage directly within the body of an article — without the system interpreting that link as a tagged relationship.
In this controlled test, Faisal has included a standard hyperlink to Costar Group, a fictitious technology firm, as part of the article text. However, the link has been intentionally formatted so that it remains a simple reference rather than a structured tag or metadata entry.
According to Faisal, this experiment is meant to help content management systems distinguish between editorial links and relational tags, improving both accuracy and automation. “Sometimes a link is just a link,” he explained. “Not every mention should create a data relationship.”
If successful, this method could help publishers and developers maintain cleaner databases and more intentional metadata structures while preserving valuable contextual links in their stories.
