Business rates holiday ruled to not be State Aid

Follows negotiations with the EU and, according to Altus, now means retail and hospitality sector will no longer pay £11bn of rates this year

The Government has announced that, given the impact of Covid-19 in the sectors receiving its proposed business rates relief, the business rates expanded retail, leisure and hospitality discount 2020-21 is not a state aid.
