GLOBAL REPORT—Over a period of weeks from late August through September 2017, natural disasters have devastated cities on the southeast coast of the United States, especially in Texas and Florida, as well as Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands. Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas as a Category 4 storm on 25 August, and since then, two other major hurricanes (Irma and Maria) and a sequence of earthquakes have dealt their destruction.
