Canadian retailer Roots has shut down its U.S. subsidiary amid declining earnings and facing the prospect of operating during the coronavirus outbreak, a decision that will close stores in Boston, Washington, D.C., and Chicago markets, as well as a pop-up location in Woodbury Common, New York.
