A number of international landlords could face empty stores after the recent insolvencies of three major retail chains in Germany, according to research by Thomas Daily, a CoStar News publication.

Home furnishing retailer Depot, clothing chains Esprit and Sinn have filed for insolvency. The retailers have shops across the country. Esprit is closing all its 56 stores, Sinn is hoping to save 41 stores following a restructuring and 300 Depot stores are at risk of closing.

Landlords include Abrdn, Apollo, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, CBRE Investment Management, Generali, Nuveen and URW.
