Private sector output remained on a steep downward trajectory in May

But pace of decline has slowed since April

UK private sector output continued its steep downward path in May, according to the latest IHS Markit/CIPS Flash UK Composite PMIĀ®. Although the pace of decline in business activity eased since April, it was much faster than any other period since figures were first compiled in 1998.
