Councils "sue 750 firms a day" over business rate arrears

Altus FOI investigation finds 190,000 domestic premises were sued last year

190,000 non domestic premises such as pubs, shops, restaurants and offices in England went before a Magistrate for non-payment of business rates in the 2018/19 financial year, according to an investigation by Altus Group.
