Before the outbreak of coronavirus, a new trend was emerging in the flexible workspace sector: The rise of building owners looking to provide flexible space directly to their customers. This was put in motion by WeWork’s failed IPO in 2019, prompting some landlords and lenders to become more cautious about flexible workspace financial models and strength of covenant.
